That's kinda high for a salvage title. The bike is incredible. Plenty more than your VFR, but very manageable.
If you have good record, insurance should be low. It's not considered a literbike, so it's usually in a lower bracket for insurance.
There are a boat load of accessories, but stock you may want a steering dampner. That's about it. I liked mine better without the dampner. It's as nimble as a 600, if you get it set up right. Nice and light, steady and confident in the turns.
It doesn't have the midrange of the 1000's, but learning how to ride it you'll have no issue hanging with the big boys on the track. Just don't expect to hang with the latest generations. Those are whole new monsters (that, or the 04 zx10r's).
and before someone else speaks up, or you think "then what about a 750" ... don't. The 954 is just a fantastic machine. Own it. You will not regret it.
