Holy Crap, What are you smoking!

I think there are only 2 production motorcycles that hit 200MPH or even close. The 99' Hayabusa and the 2002 (?) ZX-12.

I think he bought a f4i from the physics store, and a stretch of road to go with it!

In case you didnt know you can buy things at the physics store that doesnt happen on the face of the earth. For example, no frictional loses, no wind, and probably a 90 degree vertical road to fly down

I've had my 954 for about 7mo's now, and I waited for a day when therer wasn't any wind, about 70 - 75 degrees outside and was on I-459 in Birmingham, Alabama. You have to know the road your going to do this on. I knew this road VERY well. The stretch of I-459 I chose was almost COMPLETELY straight for about 4.5 miles. As I entered the first long sweeping turn I accelerated to about 110mph in 3rd and when I saw the stretch I dumped the throttle. I found out that even at top-end the 954 WILL NOT hit the rev-limiter. It's not geared that way. I talked to John Rice (ex-HMA Honda motorcycle assoc. engineer) The 954 was geared stock to perform in close to medium course performance. It was not geared like most Suzukis, at a longer gear ratio. The highest my speedo read was 180mph, but John also told me the bikes had a discrepancy of 4 mph at higher speeds. So I guess I got to 176mph. Hope this helps. Be careful. WIND is a HUGE factor when accelerating over 140mph.

Isn't it a lot better and safer to take your bike to a dyno? There you can watch the speedo hit 180 in a safe environment.

Because most find out like they are on fire, the drop and roll method !!!

I can tell you from experience do not sit up at 150 MPH as your body is an instant parachute!

Ah the air brake method.

It does leave your neck a little stiff doesn't it.

find a way around your governor and you'll do over 200 guaranteed... but please... only when conditions warrant like vivid 1 said.... open road.
Take the speedo off KM per hour.

over 200 ungov'd? i doubt it. BUT, i do my high speed runs on the highway. when there are VERY little cars. sorry, no tracks near me, and i wanna go fast. i LIKE crusing at 150. yeah, it's dangerous, yeah, dumb. but, whadda you gonna do. When we are riding in groups, and everyone is doin' wheelies, i don't. when everyone is speeding and scaring people, i try my best not to.

Do i split cars? yeah, do i give some one else crap becaues they do? no. We didn't buy sportbikes to ride them like a cruiser or how i would drive a car. I bought the bike to rip it up, to get squirly, and crash a time or 2. I'm really really sorry, but that's the way it is.

Now, if a couple of the more conservative riders here wanna go for a cruise, and don't want to hammer down, and split cars (cages), then that's fine. i'll hang back. I enjoy myself a nice relaxing cruise. but you split your first cars, and i'unno. i'm an adrenaline junkie.

edit -

How to STOP??? use the engine brake method till about 130 140, then sit up EVER SO SLIGHTLY. my GOD that hurt, and the front end got REAL light.

if you need to brake, cause you calculated the stop distance wrong, very gentle, very light, just dont lock 'em up. you will be road pizza.

so there. sorry. I say go for it man, just be freaking smart about it. plan your route out, and have a buddy on the highway with a cell phone. drop back about 1/4 mile, drop the gears and streak. DO NOT LOOK at your speedo. use a GPS that can keep track or something. good god. just know when to back off. believe me, from EXPERIENCE, those damned bikes are fast. REAL fast. I want a bigger bike, and then i think WHY? my 750 is fast enough. and it's geared down.

the only purpose of a 1000 bike is for 1 - racing
2 - lower RPM's for cruising on the highway.

if you just wanna go fast? get a 600. you don't need more. i promise. and ifyou think you do ... you need to learn how to ride it better. TRUST ME, i'm the guy that thought - naah, i'll be fine on a 750. (stupid) that thing is ungodly fast. it's the freaking devil when i twist the wrist.
