Default best value for steering dampers?

i just moved up from my CBR600F4 to a CBR929RR. Im looking at getting a steering damper, but i dont want to spend like $400. whats the best deal out there? something that will prevent tank slappers but still lets you turn easily.

also, can i buy one used for another bike and get new hardware to mount to mine?

thanks

scott

with a scotts damper, they are the same for most bikes (rotary). all you need is the mounting kit for your bike. imho scotts is the best damper made. it was my first mod, i love mine.

Well Scott

I'm using a Scott's and I love it.It has compleatly taken away my arm pump and no more head shakes on the RR.

Just get an Ohlins or Sprint and be done with it. I think Daytonas are the cheapest (well, besides getting the stocker off a wrecked bike and rigging up some brackets youself).

is there a disadvantage to the daytona?

can you get brackets for the 929 and just piece one together for cheap?
