600rr comfort & handling vs 600F4I
I've heard that the 2006 cbr600rr has 10% better handling and response over the F4I, but is 10% less comfortable to ride.
Does that sum it up or is there more I should consider before buying one or the other?

go and sit on both and see how they feel. The 600rr has a brick for a seat and take alittle while to get use to. You can always replace the seat w/a corbin seat if it's too much of a discomfort.

cbr 600 F4I 2006
I'm getting ready to go to the dealer for a used 2006 F4I. The seats looks a bit like a touring bike.
I'm interested in how the F4I and RR handle differently, though.

I've never ridden an F4i but I cannot complain about the handling of the 600rr it works great in the twisties and on the track. I like it alot better than the R6 that I had (the front always felt vague to me).
I would buy another one if I was in the market for a new bike.

well, since your user name has "racing" in it, here is my opinion on the comfort of the 600rr.
I hate it on the street!!
I am used to riding liter bikes. I got my 600rr solely for the track. I broke it in on the street for 600 miles. I hated those 600 miles!! I hated the way it felt, the way it looked, the whole 9 yards. It felt too small, buzzy, and really disliked the whole thing.
HOWEVER, after break in, and then she got race prepped, and on the race track, she is home. Everything I could dream of and more. Comfort, yes, speed, yes, everything this bike does at the race track is YES.
Comfort is not this bike's primary goal. You wanna be comfortable, get a liter bike. I can take one of my liter bikes, and ride a 1000 miles. They are heavier, which makes them a bit more comfortable.
However, I am very, very comfortable, flicking my 600rr in the corners at the racetrack, banging big numbers coming down the straight, braking way late, then flickin it in, sheesh, comfort to the max!!
Just my 2 cents on comfort with 600 cc bikes on the street!!

Thanks for the input.
I picked up a 2006 CBR600 F4i; couldn't resist the bike when it only had 2,000 miles on it and was $3,500 off MSRP. It rides really nice, but I still want to make some adjustment. I got on my Honda Magna VFR750 to take the wife out for a spin and the think felt like I was driving a couch for the first 20 miles.
The CBR has brought back a "different" type of fun with motorcycle that I've missed.
As for the racing in the title, I own a go-kart business and doing 50-100mph an inch off the ground with 3Gs of force can't be beat, even with the CBR.

It was $5,000 for the bike, $3,500 off the MSRP, because it had 2,000 miles on it.
Still a good deal, but not a fantastic deal.
I had to pay for tax when I registered it in Michigan (picked it up in Ohio)

I'm installing an integrated tail light/turn-signal unit, an Akrapovic full exhaust and a power commander this week.

I have a 600 RR. I'm convinced its a bad bike for street riding. Its small and overly responsive for stop and go driving. That said...its like a dart cutting throught traffic and it shifts as smooth as silk. If I had it to do over again I would probably get the f4i. Its a little lower. The seat is slightly more comfy and its not so "tuned" as to have you going prematurely grey if you commute with it like I do. But it depends what you do with it. I don't find the seat that uncomfortable either.

I'll have to try a RR, now that I have the F4i setup for myself.

I have an F4i...I have put hundreds of miles on 2 RR's that I store in my garage...
Unless you plan on doing lots of track days...buy the F4i...
like others have said, the RR is not comfortable on the street...and those who tell you how much superior the RR is...don't know what they are talking about...All they see is a 1 piece seat...and immediately brand it a tourer...
I ride with people on RR's...GSXR's and liter bikes...no one runs off and leaves me behind...

with -1,+2 gears on an RR and traffic. It sucks ass. On an empty freeway its great.
Pros - you don't need to be in the powerband to have your skin pulled back like a memorex commercial circa 1980s.
Cons - you don't need to be in the powerband to have your skin pulled back like memorex commercial circa 1980s.
It is what it is. How do you like your F4i? I rode a few before I got my RR and dug them a lot.

I've put over 20K on it in less then 2 years...along with around 3K on the RR's...I am glad I bought the F4i...and after some simple mods...I have a bike that is pushing about the same HP as the RR and is WAY more comfortable to ride...I ride it the 250 miles from Tally to Daytona for Bike Week and Biketoberfest...

I was actually asking da guy who just got his.
It was seriously a toss up between the 2 bikes when I bought mine. I would probably get the f4i if I had it to do again. But I love the RR too. Just more of a trackbike really and I don't do track days.
