Thumbs up Got a Bike Today

Just picked it up today. Bad thing is I got it home and the battery was dead . It worked at the dealer but guess it was on its last leg. Its on the charger now so should be able to start it up pretty soon. Cant wait to be able to start riding it.

Thanks man, Battery is all charged but I have not taken it on the road yet. Im just playing around w/ it in the driveway to get used to the clutch/throttle. Once I feel more comfortalbe on the bike I'll be driving it on the roads.

haha yeah I know. Im new to the whole bike scene. Converted over from the 400 HP Mustang scene. I get many mixed oppions on this being my first bike but god I have more respect for this thing then people realize. Its going to be awhile before Im even comfortable taking it on the main roads. Slow and steady.... Id rather take my time until I feel comfortable on the bike and not risk hurting myself or downing the bike on the pavement.

Have you taken the MSF course yet? If not sign up for it....they will teach you the great stuff that a rider needs to know and it will save you 10% on your cycle insurance. Plus they furnish the bikes for the course so you will not have to worry about dropping your's or anything during the course. I have been riding for quite a while, I have had a bike of some sorts since I was 5. My G/F wants to learn to ride so I am sending her through the class and thought about taking it it for shits and grins. I figure it is some more tools I can throw in my toolbox.

Sweet jacket too bro!!! I got 2 of them...Joe Rocket Meteor 4.0 in Blue and Black and Joe Rocket Ballistic in solid black. Even when it's hot wear it.....I wore mine today and it was in the 90s. I figure I would rather sweat than lose some skin if I go down, next I am thinking of getting another helmet.

I deff want to take one. I want to become a good responsible rider and not a speed freek junky. I could deff use the 10% off on my ins. I got the quote from the ins company and I almost crapped my pants. Oh well the Mustang was not cheap either so Im used to it. I also bought a set of ICON gloves and I already had a black/red HJC GL-14 helmet that I used for the track when racing the Mustang.

Then you are already way ahead of most new riders!! Grab some boots and some pants that will work and you are good to go!

I know what you mean about the insurance. Full coverage on my Katana was $484 a year, when I dropped the Kat and added the Triumph I went to $866 a year!! I pretty much shit right then and there

Uh-oh. Did you hear that? It's the Safety-Nazis. The sound of their goose-stepping is unmistakable.
