Default Sprocket change ?

What would be the best sprocket combination to use if I want more power on the bottom end? I heard to try a 15/45 combo, but would like more info.

The reason for this is that my F3 has alot more power from 5k-10k rpm then my RR. I noticed this when I had it dynoed. My F3 has a jet kit, but I don't want to spend the money on a commander right know, this the reason for the sprocket change.

Here's my dyno, the green line is the F3.

I would go one down in front and see how you like that. Change the rear later if you want.

I agree I would start out -1 in the front, and maybe move up +2 in the rear if you feel that you need more.
You might want to contact sprocket specialists they should be able to point you in the right direction.

I went 15/45 on my F3 and love it. Only 1 draw back tho, Highway speeds and long distance riding will drive ya NUTZ from the "scream"... Ear plugs help a little, but eeeesh! and a power commander?! for your F3? ummmmm as far as I know, they make no such thing...thought you needed FI....?!?!?! yes, no?

Curious as to what you ended up doing and how you like it. im thinking about changing the gear ratio too. also, can you run the stock chain with a -1 front sprocket?

I haven't made my decision yet, but yes you can use your stock can. The only thing you got to remember is that your speedo will be off.

Blade-Runner,

With that set-up, what gear would you say you're in for the most part on a track like Pocono East or Summit? I'm going with the 15 in front for this season. I'm wondering if this will allow me to enter some corners in 3rd w/out being too far out of our power range.

Hmmmmm.... You could keep her in 3rd for some turns. However, there is still much more power in 2nd.

What I run into in 2nd gear, is usually blipping the gas, getting into 2nd gear at an already high rpm and then having to manage the throttle without losing traction from running at too high an rpm throughout the corner. I think that this slows me down as opposed to being in a higher gear, carrying more corner speed but not running on the edge of the rpm band at mid to corner exit. The problem is that will the RR have enough grunt at a lower rpm to offset this? That's what I'm hoping the 15t will do.

I'm thinking that if I enter the same corners in 2nd gear with the 15T, that will just make the problem worse. Maybe I'm just a v-twin track rider at heart. I know I'll probably have another TL for just that purpose.
