Default new to this site

hi, ive been browsing this forum for quite some time now and finally decided to join so i can get some info that i would like to ask. as of right now i dont have a bike because i have yet found time to take the classes needed to get teh license. but ive been looking around at bikes to get a general idea at what im going to spend on a bike. the best place for me to look is on ebay. i went to one of the local bike shops and sat on some of the bikes they had. i basiclly fall in love with the cbr 1000, but i dont want a cbr 1000 im looking for a cbr600. the dealer didnt have any 600's at all, from what they told me the 600 sell fast. well anyways, im looking for a used bike because dont want something brand spankin new as of right now. ive seen bikes on ebay as low as 2k (98 model) but the problem is the bike is located in another state.

i was talking to someone that owns a yamah r6 and he was telling me that on a cbr the seat feels like a 2x4 after 30min of riding. i wasnt sure of what year of bike he was riding but i know when i was at the dealer the seat on the newest model felt great. i guess there is a lot i need to learn about bikes and there equipment, not to mention the gear i have to buy as well.

Welcome to the site.

Now if you've been lurkin for a while you already know how most of us feel about someone starting on a new 600.

If you must start on a 600,at least find one that is pre 2000,hopefully around a 95/96 would be better.

yeah i would say get a 1998 F3 or a F4i better to learn on and the F3's seat is not a brick with a cover like my 04 RR but i like the hard seat its easy to slide around on the bike in the twistys
