Default F3 parts interchange question.

Does anyone know of a site with any info on parts that the F3 shares with other honda bikes? I just got my 96 F3 and it has no fairings or tail and I am thinking about making a streetfighter out of it and wanted to know.

Thanks.

Here's the ones I know for sure:

Front end (triple trees clipons forks and wheels as a unit) will interchange with 954 and I THINK the early 90's GSXR 750 (you'll have to have em extended though... see Forking by Frank)

The 97/98 tail will go on the 95/96 F3's, IF you swap the seat and tail light at the same time.

the 93-95 900RR motor WILL go into the F3 frame, with a few little mods.

the Honda Hawk GT single-sided swingarm can be mounted, and fairly easily.

Interesting note- the F3 ECU is supposed to be a bolt-on power upgrade for the 900RR. Handy to know if you put a 900 motor in the F3.

F4/F4i bodywork can be modified to fit on the F3.

F4/F4i swingarms and rear shocks will mount on the F3 (not sure how good an idea it is, but you CAN do it)

You can mount the R6 subframe and tail fairings on an F3.

Not sure on this one, but I have heard that the turbo system off the CX650 Turbo can be shoe-horned onto a CBR (never seen it done, personally)

And I know for a FACT that the fuel pump off an '87 CBR600F1 will run on a '95 CBR600F3 just FINE ::Grin::

Hope this helps,
Merlyn
