Default Has this ever happened to any of you?

My friggin' sparkplug shot out of my head about a month ago. I have since replaced the head, what a pain in the ass by the way. But anywho, what do you think make that happen. Obviously the spark plug threads weren't up to par, but why all the sudden would it just shoot out of my head?

Our engines are high compression, you mix that with chewed threads and the plugs will pop. The plug was probably only being held in by a thread or two, once those finally gave out, pow. That's why it is very important not to overtighten plugs.

Yeah I recently changed my plugs to NGK irdiums on my '91 F2. What should have took a few minutes, became an all out battle lasting over an hour! That was a major PITA. It seems like any routine maintenance becomes way harder then it should be, compared to newer models. Is it just mine or is yours like that too?
