Default Engine getting hot

My bike is running hot at around 190 degrees... is that normal? Weahter conditions are cool and brisk. I just bought the bike with 5k miles.

They tend to run warm if you go by the gauge, as long as it is below the red you're ok. Slow speed, traffic, main street at Daytona during Bikeweek will heat the motor up. At speed the gauge should be no more that 1/4 up.

When you find yourself in a definate traffic problem such as Daytona or a wreck on the interstate when traffic is stalled and you see 210*+ rising just shut it off and push 15 minute's, it'll cool down. If you wait too long to shut it off your coolant will overflow.
