Default Any "reasonable" insurance for liter bikes???

Who do you all get your insurance from? Right now I go through American Family and pay less than $400 a year for my 2004 599, but plan on getting the new 1000RR soon. Even though I'm 28 my record is spotless, American Family won't even cover it, and the best quote I've found so far is $2100 a year.

Anything better out there?

I'd go with State Farm. They don't look at what kind of bike you have, just what size the engine is.

Hence my Repsol costs me $240/ YEAR for full coverage!!!!!

sometimes you have to watch out because some places will tell you a reasonable amount, and then they will tell you that they made a mistake and try to raise the price.this happend to me with Progressive, and I started checking around and found out that it happens to a lot of people.they told me $1500 a year for full coverage, then after i bought my 05' cbr1000rr about a week or so later they sent my paperwork and said they made a mistake, that it would be $4800 a year.I argued with them and they said they would give me the org. quote for the first year then it would go up to the higher price.I switched to Johnson insurance in Lillington,NC.they are less than $1000 a year for full coverage

What he said. Just checked my State farm and I would go from 160/year with my CBR600 to 270/year with a Repsol.

You have to be in the military or have a military parent or spouse, but if you can get USAA insurance, it is like 23 bucks a month for FULL COVERAGE insurance on my brand new 2005 CBR1000RR. It rocks!

Thanks for all the replies. I went with State Farm. I had to switch my car insurance over to them as well, but they gave me full auto, renters, and bike coverage for $141 a month.

WOW harris county TX just theft and liability is more than you guys pay from every co. no record either and Im 37. we get screwed here because of theft and wrecks on the freeways.

Ill call state farm and see what they would do if i moved the car to them and I bet its still over $1500 for full coverage
