Question Time to start modifying the 1000RR

I have been searching the web for the past month trying to find info on mods and set-up for the CBR1000RR. I have found very little info anywhere, so I've called up the aftermarket people, trying to gather information. It is pretty sketchy. I just ordered a powercommander and a two brothers M2-Vale slip on pipe. I wanted to hear the engine instead of looking at the tach all the time, and I wanted to lose my stock cat (Calif.bike) along with the weight, and the awful exhaust power valve. I found a website under Rouge Racing that has some mod's. But I have no substantiation of these mods from a second source, and some of the things listed I have conflicting information. I would love to know what a good suspension set-up is for the street. One guy says the stock shock spring is too stiff, the other says its too soft. Anyone want to throw in their two cents, by all means do! Let's get this thing going.

Rouge is a good source. For what to do it depends on how deep your pockets are. If it were my bike, this is what I would do and in this order.

1. Have GMD Computrack set up the chassis, install a Penske 8700 series rear shock and modify the forks with race setup for your weight. The before and after effect of this is dramatic on my RC51, also when they set up my Gixxer. Suspension and chassis setup are the biggest improvement you will experiance.
2. Stainless Steel brake lines front & rear
3. New rubber. I would have the chassis set up for Dunlop 208 GPs
3. Full TI exhaust, Sato probably
4. Powecommander III & Rouge Map
5. Gearing change. Honda typically geared too tall.
6. Light weight wheels & 520 chain & sprocket kit, Brembo light weight rotors.

I am by far no guru..but here is what I have, and I am pleased each time I take her out.

Race tech valve and oil in the front forks
Stock rear shock
Stock BT-014's
Slip on 2 Bros exhaust
No PC III or mapping
Steel Gaffer brake lines (front)
LED integrator for rear light, and turn signals
Aftermarket vented biatch cover / rear cover

The bike is EXCEPTIONAL set up like this, for an average rider of 175 lbs - 195 lbs. It eats almost everything on the dyno, and out on the street.

Not had it on the track yet (lack of funds), but I intend soon enough.
