Everyone ride safe and keep those eyes up.
Edit:
Here is another addittion

There is a grass fire on Hwy 67 just north of Vigilante Rd. Fire trucks are on scene and they are letting people through but traffic is getting pretty bad.
*Warning # 2*
There is a bad accident on the 67 with an ambulance in route which happened at 67 south of Scripps Poway Pkwy. Apparently lanes are shut down:

Oil on the Paly South Grade that runs the length of the uphill side!
BE CAREFUL! There have already been several lowsides!
The oil runs from the big trun out all the way up to Mothers and there is also another oil slick in one of the right handers towards the bottom by the cow sign...
Ride safe and be careful guys & gals...

I posted this in my other thread, but GMR is in pretty good shape right now. Minor gravel/debris in a few spots, but nothing major. Keep the speeds just below knee-dragging point and you should be okay.
The conditions presented here are dated 9-4-2006.
Edit:
Forgot to mention... a lot more police activity out there than usual. Maybe it's just for the long weekend.

Avoid the Malibu canyons. Lots of gravel spots, and other debris on the roads. Especially on Mullholland, and Latigo Canyon. Kanan was loaded with cops and so was PCH. Not a good place to be.
Rode up to GMR then to Mt. Baldy! Wow... becareful out there folks. It's really windy and LOTS and LOTS of gravel on the road to Mt. Baldy! And believe it or not... there was a rock slide AS I was coming down from Mt. Baldy!
Worst part... I dropped my bike! No damage though since frame sliders saved it! Just came to a stop on a banked turn and couldn't properly put my right foot down and the winds were probably in excess of 40+mph since it kept affecting my ride going straight and into turns!!! Tried to save it the best I could, but I had to let her down slowly and gently! Thankfully... my Fiora is still in top-notch shape! She never lets me down!
And then when I get home I discover a nail in the rear tire! F**K!
And GXS-R750... checking out that site now! Thanks man!
Chandra
