Default First traffic ticket on the zx10r

premis:
doing about 76 on the highway behind a rav4. Rav4 pulls off...1/2 mile up there are two police cars sitting in the median. tapped the brakes. saw 72 as I dropped to 70. Pulled off at the next exit, didnt think anything of it. Cop pulls behind me. I could not have been more polite. Even gave him my registration when he didnt ask for it, and showed him where the M motorcycle endorsement was on my license. He asked how clean my record is...and I told him the truth...spotless.
-Come back with a ticket, says I'm lucky he dropped it from about "80pmh" speeding to Unreasonable and Imprudent Speeding - 4 Points - $121.60. No mph marked on ticket. Says he wrote on the back of the ticket that he marked me down from 80mph speeding to this, so I can't "get 2 breaks in court". Asshat

Now, the thing that bugs me, is that I could not have been more legit in EVERY SINGLE aspect. Registration, endorsement, helmet wearing, gear wearing, bike completely legal w/stock exhaust, 19yr old...yet he used me as part of the PD's fundraiser.

I know there is a point where you take what you deserve...but honestly...7 -9 mph over the limit, without anyone around, minding my own safe business, completely legit, no points on license, polite and straightforward...cmon, give me a fucking break.

Edit: Speed limit was 65mph

/vent.

Yes especially considering you were not even going 80 in the first place. Was 70 the speed limit?

You left out a few things. What was the speed limit? And since nobody seems to know what your actual speed was, maybe you did catch a break.

I have every intention of taking it to court. I called about 10 attorneys when I got home. (of course no one is in their office at this time of day)

Im going to fight it.

considering we all know that speedos read higher than what were actually doing yeah that sucks ass big time.

You were probably only going about 65 when you saw the cops.. Just my thought.

What time of the month is it ?!?!?! He shouldn't have been trying to get his quota yet too early, so more than likely he was just being an ass hat. Your young and on a bike he probably didn't get financed for and he is jealous..

take it to court and plead no contest, being your record is spotless, the judge should drop the points and maybe even drop the cost of the ticket. Good luck.

Maybe the lawyer could, worse case scenario, just get everything dropped for traffic school?

When I lived in Milw they didn't have such a thing (traffic school).. Maybe things have changed since it's been 12yrs that I lived there..
