Default Another pulled over thread: Any advice...tips...opinions?

Well, got nabbed tonight around 11 p.m. Sunday night right after the 434 exit headed east on I-4. Was driving my truck, not paying attention, looking at my dog in the trunk, looking for a CD, and slowly my speedometer kept creeping up. Got pulled over for 86, but in that area its a 55 speed limit. I guess since 2006, theres a law in Florida that if you're 30+ over the speed limit you have to appear in court. You don't receive a ticket or any options, the judge gives you those options. Just wondering if anything, what I should do? Have 10 days to call the Seminole County Courthouse and request a court date. My driving record is definitely not clean, and I think I've taken the online traffic school four or five times so far. Am I screwed? Should I plead not guilty, guilty, or no contest? I've been considering just telling the truth, that I was speeding, I didn't realize it, and will accept whatever repercussions. Doesn't really make sense to lie about it, but I could present a better argument to get off a little easier. Any ideas? Thanks.

The judge and officers get lied to everyday. Likely any excuse you make up has been heard by him before. Usually if you admit to your sins and beg forgiveness the judge will be more understanding. But there again due to your past record you just may have to bite the bullet on this one. Also the judge usually has your entire file in front of him when he calls you up if you make excuses he'll just write you off as another liar and really do you. Look at it this way youre already going to pay some sort of fine might as well not make it the max

or, we could stop talkin' down to the guy and give him some opinions/advice like he initially asked for.

I would just plead guilty, let the judge know you will do traffic school and go from there. Hopefully he has some leaniancy (sp).

Traffic School and Defensive Driving – Driving University – Online Driving School is a great site for traffic school. You can do it online, save your progress when you're sick of it for the time being then continue where you left off. Also, since they make you read through whatever then do a quiz on each section, you can just copy paste everything they make you "read" into notepad, then at the end, when they ask you all the questions you can "CTRL-F" (find option) to a keyword to find the answer and skip a lot of shit. It's VERY convenient. It's also cool because they switch it up to where you do like crossword puzzles and word finders.

I suggest everyone check it out if they need to do traffic school.
