Default Friend got hit by drunk driver

My friend crossing the street in Brooklyn got hit by a drunk driver blowing a light at about 40 mph. His legs are bent and broken like they were made of pipe cleaners and may never walk normally again. How long until the police report for this should come out, will it have the drivers name and address on it and what charges can this guy recieve?

States are different but in MD you won't get anything other then the driver's name. This is done for both victim and suspect's safety. It should have the charges on it. They normally take about 2 business days before it goes through all way to records.

I hope your friend is going to ok!

In TN. the officer has 72 hours before the report is supposed to be released. Here all of the partys involved have their information on there with exception of the SS#.

More than likely will by DUI, vehicular assault and other misc. charges.

Hmm still waiting on this report. All i need is a name and plate number i have a real estate liscence after all and access to Win2,MLS,SIBOR,credit reports and pretty much anything else. My friends legs were put back the way they are suppose to be. So at least now they look straight. He's not out of the hospital yet and i don't think the report is out yet. Hmm time to play the waiting game.

Hmmmm driver had .13 bac and his name and address were listed. That means he had to have had 7 or more beers or shots in less then an hour and tried to drive. I feel bad for this guy.

Keep us updated on his condition.

Bob Not saying you would but just because you have the drivers info don't let any of the friends get themselves into trouble by trying to teach the driver a lesson.

+1.. Hoping that the driver has insurance, your friend should be financially stable for a long time.

Hope he fully recovers

seriously, the tone of this sounds like you have something sinister in mind. I had a good friend that was nearly killed by a drunk asshole. She's got the scars to prove it, too.

They told her she'd never walk again, but you'd never be able to tell anything was wrong will you saw her in a swimsuit. Then you can see the surgical scars. (but she's still damned hot in my opinion!)

But yeah- my point is that you don't need to become a piece of shit like this guy is. As tempting as it is. I would have LOVED to get my hands on that guy.... Believe me. But just let the legal system do it's thing.

I'm all for harsher laws for drunk drivers. I think it should always carry the same penalty as attempted murder. I've been REALLY REALLY drunk before. I'm talking like EPIC levels of drunk. I still have enough sense to not get behind the wheel after like 15 shots, or after more than 1 (and only after one if it's been at least an hour). I have NO sympathy for people driving drunk. Especially when people get DUI's before they're even 21...

some people.... dumbasses...
