Need a reason to not drink and drive??? (imagine if it was a bike)
This is an accident I worked last night involving a singe vehicle and a guard rail. Driver was DUI and fled the scene. He went into hiding in an apartment complex's stairwell, but was later arrested.
Vehicle left skid marks 97.9 ft long to point of first impact.
36.7 ft from 1st point of impact to vehicle final resting place.

Yes the guard rail went through the engine compartment and stopped at the back seat of of the truck(quad cab).

Damn that is bad. It pisses me off how drunk drivers always live and never kill themselves. You southerners like to get a drinkin a bit early as it appears there is light out. Quick question for you southern cops. If a habitual DWI offender crashes and kills someone can they be charged with murder. In NYC thankfully the bastards are finally starting to be tried as the killers they are.
The only injury was lacerations to the ankle of driver of the truck. And the last pic is how the vehicle was towed away. We were unable to remove the guard rail so it went with the truck.

Damn, that is gnarly. What I want to know is, what the hell did he accomplish by running home? It's obvious that you can trace the car back to him, so what's the deal, did he try to use the excuse that his car got stolen and he was home all night or what? Just trying to find the reasoning behind being a complete F'up in life and doing something as stupid as those two events.

The pics showed it to be early am when the wreck happened. From what I understand about DUI(DWI), you don't have to be a habitual offender to be charged with murder or manslaughter if you kill someone while drinking and driving. IT COULD JUST BE YOUR FIRST D.U.I.(DWI)!!!!!

I hope they get him off. This was clearly entrapment.
hahaha--good one!
driver seems like the kind of guy who wont learn a lesson untill he kills someone. Hopefully its just himself. Question to draggin, though---how can he be charged with DWI if he was not in control of the vehicle when arrested? Was there a witness who saw him flee? Was there a possibilty of another driver, or did he admit fault?
