Default got my last courtesy card taken away

i got pulled over for the second time in a week and lost my last courtesy card, the first one was for filtering. this time it was for lane splitting i was headed down town to work and there was an indians game about to start so there was alot of traffic, they saw me doing it down the off ramp(its a 270 degree ramp). traffic was litteraly stopped so its not like i was doing anything dangerous and i was only going like 10mph. the cops where there "directing traffic".... i hate when people refuse to look at things objectively they just kept bitching about why should i get to go ahead when everyone else has to wait...

but hey since i guess we are the same as cars from now on every one in a car has to drive with thier windows open when it rains or is cold out, and they cant use thier air conditioning and when some one pulls out in front of them they have to you know, die

Yeah people do get rather angry when you lane split or go down the bicycle lane to get ahead of traffic. They'll yell out their windows and stuff.

What the hell is a courtesy card, and what the hell is "filtering" ????

correct me if I'm wrong, but
filtering = going in between cars at a red light to get to the front of the line

HEY! I live near cleveland, and don't know about this courtesy card thing. Hook a regional brother up!

I'm surprised they didn't just ticket you. Cleveland is turning into a big traffic ticket city.

Yeah! Please define "courtesy card" and "filtering".

the card is usually a business card you get from a friend that is an officer. Sorta flash it when you get stopped and might get you out of the ticket.....also depends on who's card you use and who the officer stopping is and hope thy don't hate each other...

I have had people hand me a cops business card before trying to get out of a ticket. When I looked at the back it had a case number which made me ask even more questions like, "Why did you hand me this card?"

Most people would have taking the first infraction as a warning and maybe learned something from it. Just because we are on motorcycles, that does not give us the right to break the laws and it does not give the police a reason to ignore there job.

It is our decision to ride bikes. You have the right to sit in a cage just like everyone else and have your A/C and airbags. We gotta pay to play. Don't expect non-riders to see the world through your eyes.

Does this actually work? I used to be a security guard in a hospital and I got a card every time we had to call the cops for something in case the hospital had to follow up. Typically the low-life in question got a card too. Seems like a pretty deep flaw in the system if you guys are handing get-out-of-jail free cards to every scumbag that you encounter.

A good reason why you ask why they have the card and how do they know the officer.

I have a courtesy card and it's worked many times. I tape it to my driver's license and never say a word, just hand it over so it unfolds when they look at the license. Even worked in Calif. stopped by CHPS once. Didn't work on OH Turnpike...state trooper just ignored it and ticketed anyway.
