Was debating on whether to put this in here or pics, mods move it if you want.

We have been getting complaints about vehicles not yielding to pedestrians, so my department decided to do directed enforcement. My job as the decoy was to walk out in the cross walk and if the cars fail to yield then the marked units stop and cit them. I couldn't resist and decided to wear my helmet on a few of the crossings. BTW the bright orange shirt is what we are required to wear. I almost got hit with my helmet on, and everyone that got stopped asked "what pedestrian." I figured with my helmet I would look odd and that would be an attention getter. I was wrong!! Just goes to show how inattentive drivers are.

I couldn't resist taking one of the trouble maker with the trouble makers. This was not set up. I parked and they set-up behind me for our on site briefing.

I remember not too long back you and I were having to actually jump out of traffic to keep from being run the over.

I love how the guys in the red car don't even notice your there. So funny when people do blatantly selfish/dangerous things cause the don't give a cluck and the nare surprised when they get in trouble.

Well, why shouldn't they be surprised? They've never even heard the word "NO" before. It would have been detrimental to their self-esteem or something.

This just further proves that cagers are all mindless, selfish zombies with tunnel vision. Instead of citing them the officers should just walk up and smack them in the mouth, point and say "NO...NO".

They are cracking down hard on that now too. That's a big problem out here. Probably once a week at least one person is dead and maybe another injuried from crossing the street.

On the last one, arent you past his lane though? Or, do cars have to stop at a cross walk if someone is in them period... reason I ask, is that I have seen pedestrians in crosswalks, saw that they were already past where I was driving, and I kept going.
I paid attention, just didnt see any need to stop...
Am I wrong?

Technically if anyone is IN the crosswalk you are supposed to stop. They stumble backwards or something could end up hitting them anyways.

Yeah, figure 2 fully striped police cars with enough lights to land a plane with, traffic vests and flashlights would have tipped them off and still had to literally jump out of the way!!
