If they can be found then the cager that hits a biker is supposed to get the same. It is the dept. policy here that if an officer is involved in a traffic collision then the state troopers have to work so no one can say that local law enforcement was just stacking charges. Good question

Restitution because the damaged equipment is city/county government property. Would you rather have the taxpayers pay for it, again?

Vehicular assault on a police officer because he injured a police officer during the commission of a crime (while DUI).

Hope that officers is doing ok and heals up quick.

Where exactly was the officer when he was hit. Did this person jump a curb, run onto the side of the road and hit said officer? There is nothing right about this situation, but i wish i knew every angle of the story

Drunk driver hits bicyclist. 'Nuff said. Do you think the cyclist ran into the drunk driver?

The officer was under the street light on the shoulder of the road. The drunk driver went off the main roadway and struck the officer and his bicycle. The officer was wearing the required high visibility bike jacket that has all the night reflective stuff all over the bike.

I have seen this one guy crossed the street on his bicycle and hit the car sitting at a traffic light when we all showed up the guy who was driving the car turned out being over the limit.

From the first post -

"Bike officer Casey Weaver was sitting at the intersection of 21st Avenue East and Blair Street when he was hit by a car."

I talked to Casey, and he said he had just enough time to jump up so as to end up on the hood of the vehicle, and roll off to the side when striking the windshield, and avoided being taken under the front of the vehicle and completely ran over. Glad to see him ok and back to work.

Do you beleive media and all information is stated, truthfully and not in a way that may incriminate oneself. You never know the truth unless you were there. Not saying it's a lie, but i'd rather play devils advocate on everything.

So with that said i believe i was right in questioning, and you were made to look like an ass for tryin yo get smart, and the officers were able to reply with an actual incident of rider into car...

Glad said officer is alright
End

This is not the time or place for this discussion. Devil's advocate, indeed.
As the title of this thread indicated, an officer was injured when struck by a drunk driver.
You want to verify for yourself if the officer was somehow at fault here?

While you are busy judging who looks like an ass, you should examine yourself first.
