Default Got outta 20 over

Got nailed on GSP doin 85 in a 65. Was in my MR2 supercharged with cruise set on 75 my speedometer showed maybe 78 goin down a hill. Next thing i know i see 3 cop cars sittin on grass behind overpass where you can only see after you pass it. I figure 75-78 indicated in this car was prob more like 72-75 cause thaz how it is in my 325. Big mistake i see lights go on and i was the only car for a good distance so i just keep goin figurin he prob got a call. Once i see cop car maybe 3 cars back i just pulled over to save him the hassle of goin around the 3 cars. I realized i was close to the right lane so i reach up through t-tops and point to grass median and restart my car and move over the 6 or 7 feet completely on the grass.I see state trooper put on hat and starts walkin and approaches passenger side window and goes hello sir why did you move after stopping. I replied so you don't have to be so close to the highway in case somone comes onto shoulder they won't hit my car with you standing next to it it won't be good. The cop replies thanks. You know y i pulled you over. I anwser honestly knowing he got me on radar. Well sir i was doin about 75-78 tops. Cop goes nope, got ya doin 85 and shows me gun. He then tells me that was the lowest reading of the three of em and one guy got me at 89. I reply ohh ok officer i honestly knew i was speeding but didn't realize i was goin that fast, sir. Cop asks for liscence and reg. I hand it to him and he looks at it. He then says you have an M endorsement what kinda bike you got. I reply Honda CBR,sir. How's your liscence he asks. I reply clean as a whistle, sir. He nods and walks back to car i kinda knew he wasn't a dick but 85 is 85. About 2 minutes later i see him walkin back to my car and he has a ticket in his hand along with Lisc and Reg. I'm like ouch cause anything in a 65 zone is doubled so that woulda been 360 bucks. He walks up and goes me and those other cops THOUGHT we got you doin almost 90 however upon further investigation your a nice guy and i realized the only thing i'm sure of is your brake light was out hint hint. Too which i replied not realizing what he meant by hint hint it can't be out sir i am religous with this things maintence. He replied .So i gotta give you a fix it ticket for it if you get my drift. I replied yes sir, thank you sir. He replied you got a bike and a clean liscence along with this thing so you can't be that bad of a driver. I will pretend i never saw you doin that speed and won't even give you a written warning on that one. However send in a letter from a mechanic sayin problem with brake light is taken care of and the fix it ticket is gone wink wink ok. Ok thank you very much sir. We talked about the car and my bike for a couple of minutes and i wished him a safe day and said bye. The girl i'm hookin up wit is sittin in the passenger seat like ohh my god there is no way you just got outta that ticket. I am surprised myself but damn i honestly didn't realize my speedo was that off and actually slower then car was goin. Damn talk about luck. This is one lucky month for me. Not a scratch on me and got out of my second actual LEGITIMATE traffic stop in the entire time i had my liscence. There were other times that i won't count including getting nearly arrested in my friends driveway while standing around workin on our bikes because i got in a cops face and said somethin along the lines of i hope your mother dies of cancer after they started harrasing us mind you in his driveway and they demanded inspection, reg, insurance and liseces, one of my friends got a ticket for expired inspection and another for not possesing a valid liscence who didn't even have a bike there, mind you this happened in a private driveway with no one on their bikes. I got a list a mile long of other crap the NYPD has done. It pisses me off to no end that when you do something legtimately wrong the cop who actually does his job is usually not a dick. When you obey the laws you get harrassed by a ego maniac on a power trip. Then those jerkoffs give everyone a bad name for cops.

It seems to me that a set highly precise instruments designed to measure speed shouldnt be capable of a 4mph error at less than 100.

Is that a new thing with the police showing you the Radar speed without even asking to see it? Seems like they always bring it with them when they come talk to you about speeding.

It would also depend on when they locked he vhicle also. All 3 guns tiggered at the same time would give an almost exact same reading on all 3. If he was going downhill with the cruise on then the cruise control started adjusting speed and at different intervals the radar guns were triggered.

Officer beat me to it, but I was about to say the same thing. I've done this with my partner. We've clocked the same car about 2-3 seconds apart and got two different readings. It all depends on when they all clocked the vehicle.

It's a car in rush hour . The thought came to my head to try and duck off an exit until i rembered it's a 2300 lb car all be it a fast one as i haven't driven it in 2 weeks because i used the bike for commuting. Wow the change in your mind set from riding to driving i found myself tryin to break habits that are ok on the bike bad in a car. To the jerk off sayin why when you get pulled over all the time do the police bring you the radar gun,WTF are you talkin about i don't make a habit of gettin pulled over. The cops here on SI blow. Go look at tristate sport bikes and see the number of people postin tickets that make no sense who are from Staten island. My favorite was improperly tinted windshield,on a gixxer hahahaha. The majority but not all got a super troopers mind set. You can ask anyone who knows me or who has ridden with me from the forum i'm a nice guy with a hatred for jerkoffs, ego maniacs, bad drivers, insane drivers and morons in general. I got a bad habit of tellin anyone of the previously stated to go fuck themselves regaurdless of who they are. The problem with that is it's 75% of America. The other 25% i'm nice as hell to so i don't know where your pullin your facts from so get your head outta your ass and pay attention.
