I have a nice 9mm Springfield Armory XD-9 that Officer got for my birthday last year. I don't have a carry permit so I don't carry it yet. I plan on taking the class soon with one of the other police officer's wives. I've been hesitant because I have been fighting the where and how to carry my gun. I normally wear skirts only so...I think in the winter I will probably use some form of shoulder holster and hell I don't know what in the warmer seasons. Officer is really against me carrying in my purse and I don't like that idea either. He says I walk away from or turn my back on my pocketbook too much and it would be too unsafe.
I'm all for the conceal and carry law!!

A belly band might work depending on if you wear tight or half shirts in which case...

CCW is a legitimate answer to those that want to protect themselves, their family or even other citizen's if the threat of imminent death is there. Here in NC they even extended it to sexual assault. Also you are expected to shoot an intruder as they breaking into your home. You don't have to wonder why they are coming in, just that they are trying. Once they enter the home, a new set of laws come into play and you are not allowed to fire unless there is an imminent threat of death, fatal injury or sexual assault.
You take an 8 hr class and then fire a certain amount of rounds into a target at 4, 8 and 12 feet. It was definately a learning experience in what to do when the need arises.
I have always been around firearms since my youth, served in the Army and still learned a few things. Worth the $80 for class and then $15 for the permit.
they passed the law AFTER the governor veteod it?? or did the governor veto it after the legislator tried to pass it?
btw--I'm totally in favour of it, but it would NEVER happen in Canada. Our politicians are WAY too big pussies. They were actually considering a total BAN on owning handguns, even for target practice, untill the new Conservative gov. came in.
It was after the gov. vetoed. but thats the great thing about 3/4th majority. The law is suppose to go start in Jan of next year and that is when people can take the steps towards a permit
Yeah we have the 5 year renewal fee too.
The funny thing is that now that I am allowed to , I almost never carry. This town's danger level is closer to 0 than it is to 100.

Yeah, but just like insurance...I'd rather have it and not need it...

Oh I understand that completely. Living in Atlanta was like a combat zone somedays. Then I moved here and it was like "Uh, there are no threatening situations here...weird??!?!?"
