We were supposed to get patrol bikes then a neighboring city had one of their bike officers get killed.......they nixxed that idea!

We have the bike officers here. Only difference is the horse power is determined by how fast you can petal
I've seen some bike officers here in downtown Wichita. Someone really needs to teach those officers how to ride. Small front gear, large rear gear, his feet are pedalling real fast but he's going real slow. The officer looks like a gecko on the bike. By the time the shift is over, their thigh muscles must really really really hurt.

For motors you have to have been with the agency for at least 3 years, and have recommendations from your supervisors and a slot has to be open. We only have 8 bikes so they are few and far between. The only way a slot opens up is when an officer leaves or retires.
I will try and post up some pics even though they aren't sport bikes.

You should have seen one of the ones in our town. He was rather large in the belly. I used to wonder how fast he could really pedal if the need arouse.
LOL I used to tease some of the guys that when they had an emergency they had to use a bullhorn and go woo woo woo woo woo woo.

im on our bike patrol. it gets good when you go to stop a car. only got to do it once. when ever i start going real fast i have to song from the wizzard of oz in my head. the one where the witch is riding her bike next to the house. however, nothing is as good as seeing your supervisor wipe out on some sand lol good times good times

Ouch! I've wiped out on sand before. Dragged my palms and knees on the road. Not a pretty sight heheh
