Thanks Guys!
Never2Young, I love the bike. I've had it for 2 and a 1/2 years now and about 14,000 miles. I haven't had to do anything but normal maintenance and a clutch because I was trying to learn how to do rolling burnouts. I won't be doing that again! I came off a bike similar to the ZZR, and it was a huge change. My old bike was an 01 YZF 600R, which correct me if I'm wrong is the Yamaha conterpart to the ZZR. The torque is a blast, but it really doesn't have any top speed. If you like to get out on the highway and blow by everyone at 170 mph with a group of your buddies this isn't the bike for you. The 12 bounces off the rev limiter at 145 mph, and the 9 is 5-10 mph less than that. If you like to ride around town and hit the twisties shredding your tires around every corner then you are looking in the right place. A couple recommendations for you if you get one. Get the stock Dunlops off the bike ASAP, replace the stupid stock exhaust (25+ pounds!), get a new air filter and an open airbox convertion. For more information than anyone could ever need about Buells check out this site. www.badweatherbikers.com.

Bike looks pretty good, but I actually like the way the Firebolt looks stock paint wise(ie rims)

Yah, im not really interested in the top speed, i use my bike as a daily commuter and weekend toy. I test drove an 06 12, the only thing I didnt like was the position of the rearsets. The cooridinator of the demo ride said the pegs are interchangeble with the lightning...so that would solve that problem

Like all the mods to the bike, except the rims. I kinda like the yellow/gold rims and how they off set the red. Just me, Good work with the bike, congrats,

looks very good, I'm sad to see the top speed to only be 145 though.
I still love the bike though. I'm going to test ride one next week.

Enjoy the ride Dave. I guess the best thing to remember when it comes to Buells is that they are designed for the street and some people race them, rather than the metric bikes that are designed to race but available for street use. It is an entirely different kind of bike because there is so much more usable power for the street since the power curve is so flat and starts at such a low rpm.
I just got my right side scoop on the bike last night.

XB12R,
What's the other scoop for, the one you mounted on the right side?

More airflow to the back cylinder, and to even out the bike. I always thought it looked a little strange having one huge scoop on one side and pretty much nothing on the other.

I like all the work you've done. Personally I don't care for the way the stock rims look. You've done a great job.
Just to confuse the local crowd you should pull off the name, not like most would know what they are to start with.
