Looking good!
I haven't seen one of those on the street let alone the track.

Thanks, guys. My K1200R has been an incredible bike. Two weeks ago I took it on a 1600 mile weekend trip and a week later I took it to the track. Not many bikes you can comfortably do that on.
The bike handles great on the track, but the length is the only downfall. It does get the job done, but I have to use a lot more of the track than the Japanese bikes I was out there with. I had to lean a lot more on the tight stuff which is how I customized my belly pan-lol. I had a great time and the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III tires were unbelievable on the track. They knotted up just like a race tire and were as sticky as bubble gum.
I bought a GSX-R1000 for this kind of stuff in the future. I must say that the new gixxer has nowhere near the balls the K1200R has until upper midrange, but it is a rocket from there on.
Very cool mang. Glad to hear she handled well. I've been trying to talk my Dad into a track day with his so it's nice to have a report back on it.
Out of curiosity...did they ever fix that twitchy low speed throttle. The '06's were a pain riding around town...but once you open it up, it's awesome.

Yeah, the twitchy throttle thing was a software problem that they fixed with a simple upload (9.0). The other problem they fix for free if you complain is the air box would heat-warp when idling in traffic or riding really hard. They replace the airbox with a redesigned thicker one. Your dad should definitely take it to the track. He will have a blast!

Cool...didn't know about the software upgrade. I'll have to drag his bike down to the dealership when I'm home the next time and fix that for him.
I'll get him on the track sooner or later.

Do you find problems when going around turns. Like it doesn't want to turn?!?
I test rode the K1200 Sport, and found it didn't want to turn very much.
Not at all. My K1200R is one of the best handling bikes I've ever ridden. It drops into a turn incredibly easy with its low cent of gravity. The front suspension is very solid feeling, but also gives no feedback like the telescopic forks do. It might give the illusion that everything is perfect and I can push it harder than I actually should, but I haven't reached that point yet.
The long wheelbase is the only flaw I've found on this bike for the really tight stuff.
