BMW Motorrad New Season Launch fast approaching
02/23/2007

New 2007 BMW models unveiled in dealerships on Saturday10 March
With just under three weeks to go until the BMW Motorrad New Season Launch, anticipation surrounding the dealership unveiling of the new BMW Motorrad models is building. The 2007 Launch takes place on Saturday 10 March at BMW Motorrad dealerships throughout the UK*, providing the public with their first opportunity to see the new G 650 X model series in all their sporting glory and the new BMW R1500SR 4 cylinder Sport Racer.

The trio of new G Series bikes – the Xchallenge, Xmoto and Xcountry – were recently featured on the BMW Motorrad stand at the MCN Motorcycle Show in London and, judging by the initial reactions of show-goers, the public are as excited about the new bikes as BMW Motorrad Marketing Manager Tony Jakeman.

Jakeman commented, “We’ve been really surprised by the level of interest in the new G Series models. They attracted considerable interest at the MCN Motorcycle Show and our customer services team have been inundated with enquiries about the bikes and their availability. These new bikes epitomise BMW Motorrad’s brand shift, providing us with an opportunity to offer new types of exciting lightweight sport bikes to a wider audience of motorcyclists.’

“The majority of dealerships are organising special events to celebrate the New Season Launch. In addition to being able to book test rides on the new machines, one lucky visitor to a BMW Motorrad dealership between 10 and 31 March will win a G Series bike of their choice in a free prize draw.”

The G 650 Xchallenge...challenge yourself
An uncompromising off-road machine that knows few boundaries. Available at £5,995 on the road (OTR), this exciting Enduro bike, with lightweight construction, is prepared for any challenge.

The G 650 Xmoto...stand out from the crowd
A genuine supermoto for the road and track, the Xmoto offers sporting agility with dynamic performance. Available at £6,195 OTR, the G 650 Xmoto just wants to have fun.

The G 650 Xcountry...go anywhere, anytime
The new BMW G 650 Xcountry, available at £5,795 OTR, provides the perfect mix of all round riding, on or off the beaten track. This stylish lightweight machine, which boasts incredible versatility, can even be tailored to suit it’s rider with a two-level seat as standard.

The R1500SR Sports Racer
The new BMW 4 cylinder 182HP race based "S" will for the first time offer the Boxer engine in a 4 cylinder variant with a 7 speed transmission. We expect this to be the fastest production bike, says, BMW Motorrad Marketing Manager Tony Jakeman. Available at £43,311 OTR, it will be a "Limited Edition" version of a "Spec to Order" model offered to enthusiasts with the desire to have a road legal race bike made to their specifications. It will be available in the 3rd quarter of 2007 and will thrill the most demanding racer and street demon. Worldwide production figures will be limited to 100 units for the year.

Turbo with Intercooler (227 HP), BST Carbon Fibre Wheels, Safety Wired and Race Ready and two colours round out the options. There will be no ABS Option and luggage will NOT be available.

Be advised that the R1500SR will not be available at all dealerships for viewing and there will be no test rides without full protective gear and full insurance. Please check with your local dealership for more information on this spectacular offering.

As the original author noted at the forum where this was quoted from, the 1500RS info is bogus. Was just having fun.
