You're far more apt to find them at sport-touring.net or some of the other touring and BMW specialty sites. The BMW demographic and sport-rider demographic don't hold much common ground, it seems. When a new sportbike is released, sportbike riders will ask "is it faster than the last one?". When a new BMW is out, the BMW lovers will ask "can I ride 800 miles in a day on one?".
I've gotta ask - you're seriously 16 with an R1100S? If so, I'm pretty jealous - I'm 27, and I can't even afford one now!

Well the new R1200S, you cant do 800 miles on. And it does go faster, a lot faster. Its lighter too 30lbs. Yes I'm 16 yrs old, I've put about 10,000 miles on my R11S since Febuary of '06. And all togather have about 22,500 miles.

That's fucking fantastic. I'm envious; motorcycling was never endemic to anyone in my family (I had one uncle of many that had one years ago) so I never was interested in it until recently.
The R1100S is a damned fine motorcycle. I personally dig it a bit more than the new R1200S, despite the performance parity. I found out recently how much I just like to ride, not necessarily quickly, so the tour-ability of a bike speaks volumes to me.
Enjoy, and keep racking up the miles!

I'm looking to join the fraternity, my sv was stolen about a month ago.
I'm looking for an R1100 R or S. Gotta love the durability and cylinders that'll scrape on the ground!!

You will not be disappointed in the R1100S. Possibly the finest road going sporting bike around. A thinking person's sportbike. Killer looks, great handling, distinctive exhaust and note.
