Comments:
I am the 2nd owner, purchased it a year ago with 8,000 miles. This is the description from the original owner as I read it prior to purchasing:
This bike was an original red color. Now custom paint work to match 02 748s (gray titanium with red wheels). Show room condition. One of the kind. See it to believe it. The reason I chose this color was b/c I liked the 02 748s color scheme but prefered the bigger motor. So I bought this 01 996 instead. After few thousand miles, I had this paint job done by Casoli in Florida with complete 998 full fairing including the belly pan. If you notice, the 998 fairing style doesn't have the air holes on the side like the 996 style. Just done 6000 service at 6500 miles. All records are available. All receipts for all aftermarket parts are also available if you need to know pricing.

Here is what I am adding:
Previous owner advised that oil change was done prior to selling (around 8k miles)
There was a recall on all 2001 Ducati's regarding the clutch slave cylinder. Problem was that it builds too much pressure thus causing more stress on the clutch plates. Solution: Took it in to Ducati Peninsula to have clutch slave replaced. Also took it to Nichols to have brand new clutch plates installed around a month or so ago.
Please be genuine about your interest, and offer if you truly appreciate the effort that was put into this bike, as I was. No need to be a tire kicker. Thousands of dollars was already put into it to custom the bike so this is worth well over blue book.
I will accept the first best offer. I'm throwing in a stand, stock blinkers, and tools.
