My budget Bandit runs with the local sportbikes just fine. A intake box mod, exhaust pipe change, rejetting and carb slide spring mod really help cold start, idle, throttle response, drive-ability, power and economy. 4 degree advance works well. Fork spring change, and Hayabusa shock sport up the ride considerably. Pilots and Roadsmarts both work well on the bike, even at breakneck speeds and lean angles.
Insurance runs me $79 per year progressive. Maintenance is cheap and simple to perform. Parts are plentiful. Bike has personality and encourages one to ride more often and further. Wheelies are a snap, top speed is respectable 151 gps in 4th or 5th gear. Runs great on 87 octane (cheap gas), and cheap suzuki brand oil. I balance the carbs about 2 times per year for sewing machine like operation. Pulls cleanly in 5th from 1000rpm WOT (no hesitation, no stumbling

. Kinda like a classic big block car, only on 2 wheels.
Cheap, Cheap Thrills....why pay more? ( I have $3200 invested in my 2002)
