Default looking at getting an aprilia, have a few questions

So I'm looking at getting an aprilia because I've heard they are reliable, I love the looks and it's just something different than most people have. I'm a freshmen at the univ of utah and for my sophomore year I can get a new bike (well new to me, it might have to be used) so it won't be for awhile but I'm going to the aprilia/ducati dealership on saturday. I'm looking at the Tuono and the rsv, but what is the difference between the r version and the factory version of each? thanks

Hope you have lots of insurance money.

Factory has more better parts: Carbon Fiber and Ohlins mostly.

If you don't plan on doing many track days, get the R.

It's Italian so you have to take into account repair/value for full coverage.

Call up your insurance company and they can give you an estimate.

from what i've heard though aprilia's are the most reliable of the italian bikes and dont have the same technical woes as the ducatis. is that right?

and just in general would you recommend an aprilia to someone if they did have the money for insurance and stuff?

I'm not speaking about reliability... I'm talking about just from insurance standpoint. There are other factors that's why it's important to call and find out for yourself.

Completely recommend one. Small problems here and there like rear brake and a water seal here and there - but easily fixed. Pick up an 02 or later.

If you've never ridden a V-twin before, you'll either love it or hate it.

My insurance is hundreds less per year than what I was quoted for a F4i

I pay $399 a year for 12 months full coverage on my 1000cc aprilia

Actually the Falco is a sweet bike and I'm sad they stopped making it. The insurance on it should be cheaper too if that makes a difference.

Same engine, slightly different chassis, more comfy, and just as fun as the Mille.

i know what you're talking about. I just wanted to know how reliable it is because thanks to ducati some of the italian bikes get a bad rap for needing hardcore expensive maintanence fairly often. I had heard that aprilia's were very reliable but just wanted to hear it first hand from a current aprilia owner.

Engine is Austrian, brakes are Brembo, CPU is probably Japanese - You can't go wrong really.

I'd like to see $6000 out of it, I still have the original metal crate it came up here in.
