I'm also inclined to think it's a low battery. Simply letting the bike cool overnight may let the battery rest enough and take some heat of the system and give it enough juice to start the next morning. Of course if you're in a good place to try push starting it you could try that right away.
Did you notice how it was idling right before you shut it down? What were the RPMs?
You should hear the fuel pump priming most times, but not all the time (mine does it maybe 9 out of 10 times); instead, a better test is to put the bike in diag mode and run the fuel pump test, which will force the pump to cycle on and off so you can hear whether it's working or not. I don't remember the code off the top of my head but can probably find it if you need to run the test.
