I'm the same way.... staying behind semi trucks, RVs and the like is bad for visibility, and they suck a lot of debris off the ground and stir it into the air. Getting sand blasted with garbage isn't my idea of a good time.

Late spring and early summer are times with much higher debris getting flicked into the air around this part of the NW... the log trucks haul trunks out of the woods, that have been dragged up hill to a landing, stacked on rocky mud, then set into the pair of cradles that support the load during transit. No covers. The trailer wheels have mud flaps, but no fenders.... so stuff gets tossed vertically rather than straight back. Better than getting shot with a chunk of bark or recap; but that stuff still hurts when it falls, bounces and you run into it.

Another couple of weeks and the street sweepers will have picked up the worst of it... right now, it's all the stuff from all winter long, as well as the newer stuff from the current loads.
