Where is the neutral safety switch and how do I adjust it? The green light doesn't always come on when I put her in neutral. When I have the bike in neutral warming up, kickstand down, it'll even kill itself because the switch thought I moved from neutral when I have not. So how do I fix that?
I belive that the actual locator is in the clutch (though I haven't looked this up). Mine is usually pretty good, but on a rare occaision I'll have to go 1st to neutral a time or two.
Shouldn't be happening on a 2008 bike. Take it back to the dealer and make them adjust it for you.
Here's a link to the thread about the switch. The search feature of this website does work quite well. Perhaps a quick search could answer your questions next time.
Maybe I missed something, but the link you gave me is about the clutch switch. Thats not what is causing my problem. My problem is from whatever detects when the transmission is in neutral. A switch or even a sensor?
I can put the bike in neutral, even let the clutch handle out, but the bike doesn't "think" its in neutral. ie no green neutral indication light, and if I put the kickstand down at this point it will shut itself off.
