As for the XB9 series OP:
Remember that on an air cooled bike the power rating is at a low ambient temp. That Buell being air cooled the hotter it gets, the less power it has. It gets 110+ here in the summer which makes that bike damn near unrideable between heat coming off the engine and the massive power loss at high temps. Again I rode several hundred miles on one when it was between 50 deg F and 100+ deg F.
If you want "State of the Art" look to the 1125CR, or the triumphs and Aprillias, not the XB9SX.
