Asking God to help you do His will is part of Christian practice. It is a normal part of mainstream Christian prayers. It DOESN'T mean you think God will tell you what to do or how to do it. What it means is simply that you are asking for judgment, compassion, and foresight. You aren't asking God to tell you to turn left at the next intersection or invade another country. You are asking for help in making the right choice, but it is still your problem to make the right choice. It is a far cry from dumb'ya's occasional insistence that God tells him specifically what to do directly.
