The power tips don't do squat except for looking really nice.
3db is half the volume (in SPLs)....if the power tips actually took off 3db, they would be worth the money.
I have the tips because they came with the exhaust (bought second hand from an SBN member)...I would not have paid for them otherwise.
My current design (which I will fab and install tonight) is to use 0.025" aluminum for the restrictors. They will be set into the same recession as the tips, between the tip and the end of the muffler. I am going to start with a 7/8" hole in the center of the restrictor and if that is too much, I will expand it to be 1".
I'll report back on how it sounds at every stage of this project, as I suspect I am not the only person who loves the Two Bros but wishes they were about 6db quieter.
