I'm not buying that
I'm not buying the claim that odometer is correct and only the speedometer is off when you change gearing on the bike.
The display/calculation of speed might be based on pulses/time, but if you change the gearing you're getting more/less pulses at the tranny output shaft, for each rotation of the rear tire. In my opinion, that will change the accuracy of both the speedometer and the odometer as the computer is programmed to know that a certain number of pulses equals a certain distance.
