Isnt your bike carbureted, not FI? Either way, if you're doing an air filter, I'd recommend either a PC3 or a jet kit+ tune....slipon you can get away without one but usually I'd recommend a retune for an air filter.
If you think the over-all gearing is too short, you could gear it down (adding teeth to the front sprocket or subtracting from the rear)....but you'd lose acceleration and would probably see a reduction in top-speed too since I doubt you're topping out against the rev limiter.
