I complained about it to the dealer. Threads should strip, but the pan shouldn't crack. IMO its a design flaw having that seam positioned where it cracks so easily. Dealer said they contacted Yamaha about it, and they agreed to cover the part replacement under the warranty, but not the labor. I agreed to that - it's not that hard a job. You should definitely try to get the dealer to cover it. Snug tight from now on...
