As one who was around to see the days of Datsun badged vehicles sitting on new-car showroom floors, I can't help but notice that it's the one's who weren't that seem to see the name as a slight. Not to mention those who have a hissy-fit because someone even brings it up. So much for bias....

To me, the name means John Morton tearing around race courses, dominating the competition, in the BRE-Datsun 510 and the 240Z. Not to mention guys like Bob Sharp, EFR and the dearly departed Jim Fitzgerald. Oh, and some actor guy named Paul Newman....
