Police Kill Possible CIA Agent After Bizarre Car Chase

Cops kill unarmed CIA agent when he exited the vehicle

VIDEO

HOUSTON -- The best friend of a car chase suspect shot and killed by Houston police Tuesday says the man was some sort of CIA agent.

Houston police have not confirmed the details of the 52-year-old man's occupation, but the black sport utility vehicle he was driving was owned by the National Association for Intelligence Officers. Employees at the facility also told FOX 26 the man was the manager of the Houston branch.

The man was originally pulled over during a routine traffic stop, but drove off after the officer found out he had a concealed weapon license. It was reported during the chase the man was armed, and as the chase came to an end, officers surrounded his vehicle with weapons.

The man was shot as he tried to exit the vehicle after officers said the man made a sudden move. It is unclear how many times the man was shot, but he died as he was being transported to Ben Taub Hospital.

During a thorough search of the man's vehicle at a print stall, investigators found two pistols and a shotgun, one of which was within the reach of the suspect, officials told FOX 26.

The man's identity has not yet been released. [Update - CIA/FBI agent was Roland Carnaby]
CIA agents, contractors and informants routinely avoid arrest, or charges are immediately dropped after request by US Attorney General. Even for narcotics trafficking, murder and copkilling. Ask any cop how common that is.

In this case, the rookie traffic cop didn't get the hint when he ran the CIA agent's license tag and it was registered to The black Jeep Commander Carnaby was driving is registered to the National Security Command Center. So the CIA agent just ignored him and drove off at low speed.

Former FBI Agent: I Knew Chase Suspect By Different Name

02 May 2008

HOUSTON -- Roland Carnaby claimed to work for the CIA. But the suspect who police shot at the end of a citywide car chase Tuesday was known by a different name to the former agent in charge of the Houston FBI.

"I only knew him as Tony," said Don Clark, FOX 26's security and law enforcement analyst and former FBI agent. "I had no idea what his name may have been or was. The name that was in the newspaper, I had never seen that name before."

Carnaby, 52, was pulled over Tuesday morning for speeding and then led police on a chase when the officer discovered he possessed a concealed weapon license. His death was ruled a homicide Thursday afternoon after medical examiner's officials determined he died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Investigators and FBI and CIA officials have said they could not trace Carnaby's connection to either agency, but family members said Carnaby had awards, pictures and books signed with several officials, including former CIA Director George Tenet and former Secretary of State James Baker. But Clark says he thought Carnaby was too talkative for an intelligence agent.

"People who are involved in those types of activities are very closed mouth," Clark said.

Federal credentials also were found inside the SUV, but police say the CIA is sending someone to Houston to examine Carnaby's alleged Agency credentials.

"If the person was portraying to be something that he wasn't, I think they have a responsibility to see if there's been any damage that's been done," Clark said.

Carnaby was the president of the Association For Intelligence Officers, a non-profit organization for current or former intelligence professionals and supporters of the intelligence community. Organization officials posted a note on their Web site Thursday, extending their sympathy to family and friends "over his untimely and inexplicable death."

"A man gifted with remarkable people skills and charm, Roland called upon his wide range of contacts -- particularly those in the Houston and Federal law enforcement communities -- to support an impressive speaker series and other local activities in the Houston chapter he reactivated a few years ago," the Web site states. "Mr. Carnaby underscores the achievements and energy associate members bring to the association to assist in the educational mission of AFIO."
All CIA agents are crooks and copkillers, according to US Code, so good riddence. Funny how police state death squads occasionally kill police state death squads.

Now the taxslaves get to pay for the crimes of the death squads.

Family of Chase Suspect Files Suit Against HPD

02 May 2008
FOX 26 News

HOUSTON -- The family of a suspect who police fatally shot at the end of a citywide car chase has filed a lawsuit against the Houston Police Department.

The lawsuit alleges police shot an unarmed motorist in the back with no criminal record, according to an statement issued from Houston Attorney Randall Kallinen. Kallinen and family members of 52-year-old Roland Carnaby are scheduled to discuss the lawsuit during a conference at 4 p.m.

"The police did not follow procedure," Kallinen has said. "They escalated the situation and then two individuals, two police officers, shot an individual who was unarmed."

Carnaby was pulled over Tuesday morning for speeding and then led police on a chase when the officer discovered he possessed a concealed weapon license. His death was ruled a homicide Thursday afternoon after medical examiner's officials determined he died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Carnaby has said he worked for the FBI and CIA, but investigators and federal officials have said they could not trace Carnaby's connection to either agency.
So are cops now trained to shoot anyone who signs a contract to carry a handgun?

In the olden days, cops didn't care if drivers ignored traffic stops:

NO LIMITS - FIGHTING SPEEDING TICKETS

by Norman Fulcher, Texas Highway Patrol

Not all of us have a silver tongue with which to talk our way out of a ticket, but I remember one driver who did a very effective job.

Several years ago, my partner, Brent, and I were running stationary radar. A car came barrelling through at a very high rate of speed. Turning on our emergency lights and sirens, we immediately gave chase.

To our astonishment, this person would not pull over. After half a mile, we forced the issue by pulling up beside the car and waving it over.

The car finally stopped. Because the windows were tinted, we could not see the driver. We approached cautiously, ready for action. The window slowly came down and, to our surprise, the car was driven by a little old lady. She was a tiny, frail, gray haired elderly lady.

Brent politely introduced himself andstated we had stopped her for speeding. He asked to see her driver license and proof of insurance.

The woman sat there in silence for a moment and then asked, "Am I going to get a ticket?"

My partner informed her he would be issuing a citatio.

She firmly stated, "I have been driving for 60 years and have never had a ticket. I am not going to get one now."

With that she got in her car and drove away.

The shock on Brent's face was apoplectic. At 6 foot 2 inches, 230 pounds, he had been stopped cold by a little old lady.

I was laughing so hard I hurt. I said "What do you think we ought to do Brent? Chase her down and jerk her out of the car, or just shoot her?"

Brent made no reply. He got back in the patrol car and pretended it never happened.
Now they just shoot everybody. Except illegal aliens.
