State Farm Insurance
So I finally got my new bike insured today. It's actually Dave (CopperTL)'s old CBR 1000. After looking around a little bit, some of the rates I found were WAY too high. (I am 25, 1 failure to obey a traffic control device ticket back in 05/2005, single, rent an apartment, etc...)
Anyway, Progressive was if I remember right something like $900 - $1000 a year for full coverage $25k/$50k/$10k limits (I think thats what it was) with $1k deductibles on collision and comp. Which I decided was too much, so I was going to just go with liability only for like $390 / year. Surprisingly Progressive was the cheapest of all the places I looked at too.
Today, I went to State Farm and got a quote, and ended up buying insurance too. Now I'm paying $51 / month for $250k/$500k/$100k liability, $1k deductibles on collision and comp, and medical coverage. and $100k/$300k under/uninsured motorist. It would have been like $60 / month for $500 deductibles, so I've been thinking maybe I should have done that instead. If I move my car over to them from USAA, it would have been something like $30 / month for full coverage w/ $1k deductibles. (and the car was about the same rate)
This coverage is also suspendable during the winter months, so basically the months that you don't ride (nov - mar I'm assuming?) you can keep just comprehensive coverage which comes out to like $4 / month.
So, if any of you are looking for insurance out there I would highly recommend State Farm.
