I knew a guy that had one, and a GPS on his bike...a gixxer 1000. I would likely tap into the power for the head lamps, or something else that MUST be on when your bike is running. Get yourself a wiring schematic and find the best power source to tap into. Just a little FYI though, I know for fact that the same companies that build the radar devices build the detectors, guess who gets the better technology, not us! Radar detectors give you a false sense of security, and thats pretty much it.
