Ok I'll try to explain it for you. I mounted the thing myself and the two bars that wrap around the exhaust is mounted at the bottom on each side with two screws (same holes as the fender yes). They can be removed without removing the fender. The top mounting is located underneath the plastic shell covering the exhaust pipes. You have to remove the plastic shell (grey colour) to get to the mounting holes. Look at my pictures and I think (hope) you will understand how to do it.
