The taxes which land owners pay, pay for:
1) Owning land that is within a border secured by our military.
2) Owning land that is supported by the roads maintained by the state.
3) Owning land which is secured by your state police forces.
4) Owning land which is internally secured by numerous state and federal departments to help keep you safe.
Its not "rent", it is payment for services rendered.
And its not mandatory either....you get #1-4 above just for renting an apartment, where you pay NO taxes.
Its a fair shake, and to say otherwise is simply myopic greed.
