Default the pink bike phenomenon (men and women respond please)

been thinking about my next bike. i always avoided the pink phenomenon (what i call the need to add to being female on a bike by having a pink bike and wearing pink gear) because i thought it was...either corny, or just too much.

now i think about my next bike, and if i could get a wicked paint job, what design and colors it would be...and it crossed my mind that maybe i should join the pink phenomenon.

my issues are:
1. there are no men's gear in pink, women's gear doesn't fit , and my only serious vanity about bikes is that the gear (at least waist up) has to match the bike.

2. even though i have grown up and now accept that other women might be comfortable enough in their femininity to marry it to the bike colour...i'm not sure i'm ready for me to be that girl on the pink bike yet...i think somewhere in there i'm still a little snobby about pink, like i was back in the tomboy days in high school...just avoided pink like the plague.

3. but, mine would be the only pink one i have seen in ages, and i really want my bike to not look like everybody else's bike, another way to make my next bike a part of ME. people suggested i could get it in my country's flag colours...but i saw one of those at bike week, that's a hard set of colours to find a jacket and helmet for, and while helmets can be customized, i like colour schemes that are easy to find on a jacket. (my country's colours are black green and gold, with the gold as an x in the flag's rectangle)

what do you think when you see a pink bike or a girl walk in somewhere with a pink helmet in hand?
