Weak? He tried to identify who he was dealing with. You say its weak, but its the whole basis of why things went south for them. I know you are trying to stand on the arguement that their rights were trampeled, but law is law. If they didn't like it, there are other avenues to fight it, not on the porch with a cop who has no say on the credibility of city statues. His job is to just enforce it.
