Tough call....
how much are you wanting to boost performance by?
You get a lot better throttle response by opening up the intake and exhaust and retuning the ECU.
And by a lot better, i mean a LOT better. It's a night and day difference.
Other than that, you can get a little bit hotter cam for the bike... but you destroy the nice linear power curve of the engine.
But there's honestly not a hell of a lot you can do for speed. The MAIN thing that the Daytona lacks is a good suspension.
I have converted my front end to 2004 GSXR 1000 forks and brakes. The difference is nothing short of incredible. The rear shock is getting changed to either a stock unit that has been re-sprung and re-valved or an Ohlins model. I have not decided yet.
I also have one motor that i am going full-out crazy on. It's getting a custom big-bore kit and new cams, as well as a bunch of head work. Just because i have a couple extra engines and some time on my hands....
