FYI for everyone, just put that thing on barely stug. Oil pressure isn't that much, the filter ring will expand, and leaks will not happen until you untighten.
I usually resort to super-sized channel lock pliers in those types of situations.

You sound like you know what your doing. How much oil pressure would you expect to see at say 7k'?
