Default Went down pretty hard tonight.

It had to happen and so it did. Im rolilng around my brothers area waiting for him to get home. I was coming up on a turn so I downshifted to second and was going about 20-25mph. Im going through the turn and spotted a patch of sand too late. I really thought I was just outside the patch of sand. But I wasnt.

I stayed smooth on the throttle and it didnt matter. Sand got me and down I went. I tried to stay as relaxed as possible and just let go of the bike as soon as I hit the ground. Its a pig of a bike and I didnt want to be under it at all. I remember thinking "this sucks, and this is going to hurt." It did, badly. I hit hard on my left side, shoulder back, hip and all of it and slid for what seemed like an eternity. It was about 20 feet. over a guys driveway and onto his front lawn which he was watering as a matter of fact. Under other circumstances it would have been funny. It knocked all the wind out of me and as I sat up I checked my bike first. LOL! The highway bars saved any real damage. Just my left mirror and my clutch lever is slightly bent but works fine.
My front brakes seem very hard to pull in now and dont stop me very well at all. Brand new pads put in today too. It went down on the left side so thats confusing me. Any help there would be great.

Five people came from down the street to check on me. Two of them riders themselves. They said it looked like I hit real hard and I feel it now too. But it was really cool of them to check me out.

As for me Im only sore. My gear saved my ass. I had a KBC Viper TK-8 Helmet on. A* Gloves and a Firstgear Mesh Jacket. All the gear held up well. My jeans started to wear through a little and my hiking boots protected my feet in the initial crash. I wouldnt be typing this without my gear. My left glove took a beating and my helmet got scraped it seems on the way down. I dont remember hitting my head though.

All in all a good night. My bike was ridable and Im typing this. So it could have been worse. Thats my crash story. Sorry its so long.
